About:Chinese Consulate in Brisbane

is visa needed if staying on board a cruise ship - one day visit to China, Shanghai.

We are going on a cruise to Singapore from Brisbane Australia and the ship calls into Shanghai in the morning and leaves the same night. We shall probably stay on the ship.

Many thanks for your help as we are older persons and this is all new to us.

Barbara Irving.

Barbara, considering what you said, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit, in this way, you don’t need an entry permit.
However, you’d better contact with the cruise ship and confirm that.
