About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

My cruise ends in Shanghai. Am taking a flight from PVG back to YUL. Do I need a VISA?

Princess Cruise ends in Shanghai. Will disembark the ship and I have a flight back home from PVG to Montreal ( YUL) that same day at 3:30 pm.
Do I have to apply for a China entry permit?
Can I use the 72-hrs Free Transit?

Appreciate a response.

Thank you.

Guy, you cannot use the 72 hour free transit because it’s only applicable to passengers by air.
But considering that your layover time is less than 24 hours, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. In this case, you don’t need to apply for an entry permit either.
