Working on an S2 visa

Hi I've heard I can't obtain an X type if I don't have a minimum of 2 years full-time work experience after graduation. Is there any leeway with this? Is it possible to work on an S2 type instead if I have a family member working in Shanghai?

Natalie, you can't work in PRC on an S2 type. It's illegal.

In fact, there is leeway with the work experience. You can ask your employer to try its best to get the work permit for you.
