Can I get a bus from Hotel New Otani Chang Fu Gong to Forbidden City/Tian’anmen Square?

Subway is more convenient and it has English broadcasting. You can take subway line 1 at Jianguomen Station, get off at East Tiananmen Square Station, Exit A. Then walk west around 450 yards (420 meters) to arrive at Tiananmen Square.
After touring around, walk north to easily find the Forbidden City directly.
