About:Power Plugs / Sockets in China

Would a transformer, bought in China, provide proper power for U.S. electrical music equipment ?

I have a drum machine for percussion and midi processor for electric guitar...these are small and carried in my luggage for my flight to PRC. I hope to purchase a transformer there to adjust for the difference in electrical power.
