Multiple Entry Tourist Visa for UK citizens?

Is it correct that starting January 11th 2016, UK citizens can now apply for a multiple entry tourist L type as part of a reciprocal arrangement between UK and China?

If so does this arrangement apply to visa application for British nationals who are resident in USA?

Peter, although the policy is eased, it is hard to say. I have seen a post recently (perhaps last December) which said according to the response from the CVASC, no multiple entry tourism types are provided for UK citizens.
Since you reside in USA, I think it may be more difficult. Just for your reference.

Thanks Matt. It is rather ambiguous but appears to apply only to UK citizens resident in UK applying through UK Chinese consulate service.

As it happens, and for those interested, I applied this morning through the USA Chinese consulate in Los Angeles as I am resident here. They told me my only options as a UK citizen applying in Los Angeles (note you must be have applicable USA resident/entry permit papers for proof) were single entry 3 month validity one for US$30 or multiple entry one year validity for US$90. They knew nothing of the two year multiple entry one.
