About:Best Time to Visit China

Independent Travel

Hi,
I am planning to visit Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai Tour in the month of August. I am from India and dont mind the hot weather. However, if anyone feels some other problems , please advise.

Also, i like to travel alone. Is driving around the country a feasible option? Or public transports are better? Also do you feel if we can travel alone or we should need help from some local tour operator?
Please advise
Regards
Gunankar

Another problem is that you might see many Chinese tourists at the tourist spots because students are on their vacation.

I don't think driving is a feasible option. To drive legally, you need to get a Chinese driver license. However, it's too difficult for a foreigner to get one. So you'd better use public transportation tools, like buses and trains.

If you visit Beijing, Xian and Shanghai, I think you can travel alone. Of course, you'd better make detailed plans and preparations early. However, if you plan to visit some remote areas, Silk Road, for example, you should join group tours.
