About:Chinese Etiquette

My son is marrying a Chines girl this coming weekend.

one of our wedding gifts is an engraved clock that states love is forever. I read in the above list of thing never to give is a clock. Will our gift be inappropriate or offend?

Gary, clock isn't a lucky gift as you know. I am afraid that the girl's parents might be unhappy if their daughter receives such a gift. If possible, you'd better send them another gift.

Already done crisis avoided. Talk to a friend of my wife's at work and when she told her what we got she started going through her purse and said here give her this instead and produced a neckless she had just hand made...then she said you should call to see if you can exchange that. That's when we knew it was more of a problem...so we got them something custom picture frames and a large Cristal vase with the same engraving.
