About:China Consulate in Houston

My husband and I live in Shanghai for his job and we have a resident visa in our passports.

My passport was going to expire in May 2016 and I am currently in the US so sent my passport off yesterday for renewal. When I get my new passport it won't have my resident permit in it and I am going to be returning there soon. How do I go about getting one to travel back? My phone number is 832-721-3184.

Thank you,

Sandy Murray

Sandy, you can take both passports to go back to China. The residence permit on the old passport can be used. When it's about to expire, you should renew the residence permit and transfer it to your new passport. If you still have doubts, you can contact the embassy for confirmation.
