Hi, could you advise is there a morning train from XIAN to LHASA ON 3rd May 2016?

Do you mean T223 which departs around 6am? This T223 would be available on odd days during May thus May 3rd is OK. There are also 2 rides around 10am everyday from Xain to Lhasa.
