Hema, you can apply from Chinese embassy in Singapore or send the documents to HK Immigration Department. It takes around 4 working days if you apply from the embassy. However, it might require 4 to 6 weeks if you send to HK. However, it requires recent personal bank statement for last consecutive months to prove that she has enough money to cover her stay in HK.
To apply from HK directly, it requires bank statement, salary slip, professional ID or official company leave letter.
I suggest you contact the Chinese embassy and ask if you can burden her expense and then apply for a visitor type for her.
