About:

Shanghai PVG to Qingdao Laoshan district.

What is the cheapest and easiest way to get from Shanghai PVG (3:30pm) to Laoshan district.

The best way is to take a direct flight to Qingdao (1.5 hours). There are many departures each day, so it is very convenient for you to fly there. Upon arrival, take airport shuttle bus line 3 to Laoshan District. :)

How about taking a train? Would it be much cheaper to take the train?

Also is the main train station called SH train station, where the sleeper trains and usual trains all go from?

Well, according to your arrival time, there is no direct train that can take you to Qingdao. So you are still suggested to take the plane.

In addition, the stations you mentioned are the same. And yes, it mainly contains normal speed trains and ordinary trains.
