About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

transfer in Guangzhou

Arriving from Singapore with Tigerair and leaving with Aeroflot. Tickets bought separately. Do I have to go to airport transfer desk or to the passport control, get my free visa, then to baggage claim and then to check-in counters?

Well, if your stopover is within 24 hours, the correct transfer procedures are Flight Arrival - Stamp on Boarding Pass - Quarantine - Transfer Procedure - Waiting & Boarding.
You don't need to get the visa and recollect your luggage.

I have to somehow claim my luggage as there are two different airlines and tickets have been bought separately. I doubt they will transfer my luggage on their own. So the question is how do I get it?

You need to consult the airlines whether they have luggage check through service. If yes, you don't need to recollect the luggage. If not, you need to get them and reclaim by yourself.

I arrived and departed at CAN on international flights which are operated by different airlines. I arrived at A Area, East-III Bridge. I just went through Inspection& Quarantine, checked in, and showed my luggage receipt. Then, I had my boarding pass stamped, and accepted Customes Inspection and Security Check. After that, I just waited and boarded. You may contact the airlines to make sure whether they provide luggage check-through service. :)
