Prescription Narcotics

I'm traveling to China in a few weeks. I'm addicted to painkillers and need to bring some with me. I can fit enough into a condom that I will stuff in my rectum. How thorough are the searches at Chinese customs? The last thing I need is to be sent to a labor camp for 20 years.

If you do so, you will be caught at the customs for sure. My advice is "don't try to play tricks at the customs." If you need to take painkillers, please get the prescription and medical certificate from your doctor. You will be allowed to bring some. However, you should understand that narcotics isn't common medicine. Please do not take too much.

Incoming Chinese customs are so lax at most times that the declaration gate has been CLOSED on both my entries into PRC. Also they look just like any other medicine from the pharmacy. Throw them in your CHECK-IN baggage (not hand luggage), lock it (get a bag with a key or a number lock), take a deep breath and relax. no one is going to touch that thing. if you REALLY feel (needlessly paranoid) then take the pills and put them in the box of another medication that is OTC. easy. PLEASE DON'T try to smuggle it like coke or something! You might actually get into trouble for that at the scanners. Please take care of yourself! <3

another (not needed) option is to buy painkillers in CN. You can't get anything stronger than codeine though. But in some cities is now OTC again (it's a box that has day and night pills and you have to write your passport number at that pharmacy). Every other opiate you need to have broken bones, a tooth pulled or cancer to get them, unfortunately.

Just put in your check in bags with a lock, and put them in the packaging (box or bottle) of an OTC medicine.
