Do I need to get an invitation letter for Q2 visa?

Hi, my husband is chinese leaving in here in the Philippines, we want to go to china this February, do i need to get an invitation letter from his parents in China to get a Q2 type even we will be going there together?

Yes, I think it's OK, but it's better if the letter is from his parents because they are now in PRC physically.
