questions about using "Travel Document to Chinese" to go to China

1) I have Taiwan passport, what document do I need to apply "travel document to Chinese"?
2) how long can I stay in PRC if using the "travel document to Chinese"? Can I apply to extend for longer period if needed? How many time I can extend? where should I go to apply for extension?
3) If I enter as travelling , then I got an offer as a consultant or an employee, do I need to do anything to change my travelling status?
4) Can a consultant or employee work in PRC? Is there any age requirement/limitation? If my age is not within the age range, does it mean that I will not be able to work legally in PRC?

(1) The required documents include the completed application form, 4 recently-taken bareheaded color photos, your passport and copy of its data page and the residence permit in America or valid entry permit to USA.
(2) The validity of Chinese travel document is usually 2 years with multiple entries. It cannot be extended.
(3) You cannot work with the travel document. When you enter at the frontier inspection, you may be required to apply for a three-month Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwanese. IF you can find a company to employ you, your employer will apply for employment permit for HK, Macau and Taiwan residents for you. After that, you need to change your 3-month mainland travel permit to a 5-year one and work in mainland PRC.
(4) Don’t worry. It’s very likely that you are able to work although your age is not within the age range. You can give it a try.
