About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Canada to Kolkata India with a 12 hour stop over in Kunming China

I am traveling from Canada to Kolkata India with a 12 hour stop over in Kunming, I have an Indian passport. May I sighsee out of the airport? Do I need a tourist Visa to do so?

Hello, Laura, you don’t need a tourist L type because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. You can leave the airport and have a sightseeing in the city as long as you apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport.
