Business visa one year multiple entry information

Hello all, I have a 1 year multiple entry business M type for China and I am not certain on the restrictions. Is it correct that I have to leave mainland PRC after 30 days? Am I able to simply travel to HK or Taiwan and then return straight away? After that does the 30 day limit restart? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Matthew, it’s correct. If the allowed stay duration after each entry shown on your passport is 30 days, you can go to HK or Taiwan after each 30 days and then re-enter. By the time you re-enter, you will get another 30 days of stay. But you’d better not do that frequently, or you may be interrogated and even your M type may be cancelled.

Thank you Caroline. As far as you know, does it have to be a Chinese company that can only grant a work permit and not a foreign company wanting to send expats to work in China? Thanks again.

Dear, it doesn’t have to be Chinese entities. If your company has a branch office in PRC, it can issue the invitation letter; otherwise, you need to ask your trade partner in PRC to issue it to you.
