Can I bring small pieces of wood planks for personal use on my check in back or carry on?

I want to bring Spanish Cedar pieces to make some small drawers to China from the USA

Alex, I don't think it's a good idea to bring Spanish Cedar pieces. If you do want to take them, you should declare at the customs. Inspection and Quarantine procedure might be taken to ensure that these wood planks are safe.
