About:Chinese Permanent Residence Permit

with Residence permit can reside in another city?

I am the Chief Representative for my company's representative office and my whole family has one-year Residence Permits which are renewable each year when we renew the office's registration as well. There are no international schools in this city so I would like my wife and kids to live in another city in a nearby province, however. Can we legally do that as long as they register with the local PSB, or can Residence Permits only be used to live long-term in the city in which they were obtained?

Thanks, John

According to the regulation, you should change the address registered at local police station. According to what I heard, you should get the temporary accommodation registration form within 24 hours from the police station in your new area. Then you bring the form and your resident permit to the entry and exit management bureau in the previous city to do the address change.

I personally think you'd better consult this issue with local entry and exit management bureau first before moving.
