It's easy for you to travel by maglev and then metro. There are clear English signs and elevators/ escalators for you to save energy. The thing is it is about 1200 yards away from the Century avenue subway station to your hotel. It's a long walking with luggage.
Actually, you are suggested to take Maglev Train to get to Longyang Road Station. Then take a taxi to your hotel directly. The cab fare is CNY 25 to 30.

I have checked that a shuttle bus service will cost CNY 500 and a taxi about CNY 300.. The hotel service CNY 700.

Why would I prefer a shuttle to the private taxi?

Well, the airport shuttle bus costs CNY 15-30 per person, not CNY 500. To the Zhongdian Hotel, you can take airport shuttle bus line 5 to Dongfang Hospital for about CNY 25. Then, take a taxi to the hotel for CNY 14.

If you take a taxi to the hotel from PVG, the fare is about CNY 150, not CNY 300. There is no extra charge for luggage.

So, you can choose the way you like.
