About:Hong Kong International Airport

We will be traveling from South Africa to Australia via Hong Kong. Do we need visas to stay?

We want to stay in HK when we travel to Australia. This will be in transit. Will we need a visa for three days and where would you suggest we can get accomadation at a fair rate, not expensive. What else can you suggest?

No, you needn't apply for a visa because the South Africa passport holders are eligible for the 30-day visa-free policy. As for accomodation, you will find many economical hostels near Tsim Sha Tsui. Maybe you can consider Log Inn at no. 21, Lock Road.

The must-see attractions include Npong Ping 360, Ocean Park, The Peak, and Causeway Bay. For your three-day trip, you may buy an Airport Express Travel Pass, with which you can take Airport Express Line, MTR, buses, and ferries very conveniently. :)
