Transit Visa Application

I am a Filipino travelling from MNL-JFK-MNL, for my flight MNL-JFK flight I have a 12 hour lay-over and for my JFK-MNL flight I have a 28 hour lay-over. Additionally, if I opt to see the city on both occasions, with be applying for Double Entry?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello, Nice, considering your situation, you can use the 24 hour direct transit for your first trip from MNL to JFK. If you want to see the city, you just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport.
You should apply for a single-entry transit G type entry permit in advance of your second trip from JFK to MNL because you stop over for more than 24 hours. .

The 72-hour free transit does allow the traveler to leave the airport and stay in a hotel, but you are not eligible for the 72 hour policy because of your nationality.

Thank you Ross. For my return flight (JFK-MNL with 28 hours lay-over) will the G Type Transit Visa allow me to go around and book an overnight accommodation outside the airport?
