advice for perfect gifts for my girlfriend's family

Hi, I'm planning to visit my girlfriend's family in January. She lives with her family in Foshan, Guangdong. And till now I'm still figuring out of what should I bring for the family. It will be very cold there, and really I'm out of budget as I've already bought special gift for my girl there. I'm Indonesian and usually we give presents such as batik cloths as this is our famous made here. But, then, maybe I should listen to some advice here. thankyou.

Batik cloths are fine. And you might bring some health products, for example, bird's nest. Yes, I know that bird's nest isn't allowed to enter. However, canned bird's nest are allowed.

Thx for the advice Shirly, but I'm just wondering why health product is very recommended? It's like, China is the place where ancient medications and tons of traditional meds are . But however, if you say bird's nest, it's so expensive here :( ... what about if I bring lots of chocolate produce?I heard from my girl that chocolate is very expensive in mainland, and rare...any further suggestion?

Hey, I have been there several times. Chocolate can be easily found at the supermarkets. And I don't think it is a good idea to send chocolate to your GF's parents. For your GF, it's ok. You know, health products are more practical for the aged. My Chinese friends told me that they are popular gifts. And I don't think you should be bothered. You can ask your GF what their parents like. No matter what gifts you bring to them, you should let them know your sincerity.
