If so, is it only for subway or is it a joint-pass for both subway and busses? How much is it? Thanks!

You must refer to the Transportation Card, right? Nowadays, as I know, there is no monthly card. But don't worry. You can just buy the Ordinary Transportation Card. The deposit is CNY 20 per card. Then you can reload money on it. This card can be used on subways and buses. And you can enjoy some discounts. When you leaving the city, you can go to several designated service counters to get the refund. Don't worry.
