About:China Visa Application in USA

Submitting and picking up a document to certify

My coworker and I are required to certify (authenticate) our diplomas with the Chinese consulate before traveling to Yanzhou to teach at a high school there for 6 months. I think this is through the visa office? It appears that the consulate doesn't do any transactions by mail, so am I to understand that I need to appear in person to accomplish this?

Alternatively: I believe my school district is taking care of the visa application. Would it be possible to have them submit the application for document authentication at the same time as the visa application and save me the trip to San Francisco?

Thank you!
Callie

Callie, you should handle it at the consulate general.
You can go there in person or entrust others to accomplish that for you. The application for document authentication and entry permit application can be submitted at the same time.
