US citizen 1 year multiple entry visa to China questions

Hello,

I am a US citizen living in the Republic of Korea and I would like to get a 1 year multiple entry one. My current US passport expires in August of 2016 (8 months from now). Is it possible to get the one year type on my current passport and then transfer it to a new passport when I get a new US passport next year?

Jeff, it's still possible for to get a one-year multiple entry type. But you don't need to transfer it to a new passport when you get a new passport, you can just enter with both passports. By the way, if you apply from South Korea, you may need to hand in an ARC card with remaining validity of no less than six months.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I do have an ARC card, but it expires in February and that is when I plan to leave Korea. I wish to make a trip to China in Early February and then again next year (but leaving from my home in the US, not Korea.

Is this still possible?
