when should we return to pudong airport?

Hi,I'm taking my niece on a trip to New Zealand and we're transferring through Shanghai twice (17h stay each). Since I've been too the city a couple of times I want to Show her around a Little - thinking about classics as SWFC, Yuyuan and Bund.Now here's the question: Both our planes will be leaving at about midnight and I do know Maglev doesn't operate at late night, but taking Line 2 from Nanjingludong would work nicely. Considering the time it takes to get there, does anyone know, when one should return to Pudong Airport?Thanks for your help!Best

Generally speaking, you need to go back to the airport 2 hours in advance. So maybe you need to arrive there before 22:00. If you take subway line 2 at East Nanjing Road Station, it will spend around an hour to get to the airport. Thus you are suggested to start off from downtown area at around 20:30.
