Dear, if you want to enter PRC for tourism purpose, you need to apply for an entry permit in advance of your trip because one needs separate entry permits to HK and mainland. However, it’s possible for you to enter freely. If you just transit in Chinese city for less than 24 hours, you can enjoy 24 hour direct transit service. In this way, you don’t need to apply for an entry permit.
