hi, we are arriving from india to beijing on 20th dec.

Question

I understand it will be quite cold. We will be staying in  a hotel in Chunxiu Road, Chaoyang. Is this a good place to stay- how is the connectivity to the other places and the International airport from here, since we have not read too many good things about the Taxi services? Do we have some good economical shopping areas around? Thanks in advance.

So your hotel is close to Dongzhimen metro station, right? Well then, it has a good location and is certainly accessible to the local attractions and airport. You can take subway line 2 and Airport Express Rail there. In addition, buses no. 24, 117, 132, 413, 416, and so on are available within walking distance. For a perfect shopping option, Sanlitun is recommended. It is within 2km from your hotel. U may take bus no. 117 to reach. Another one is Silk Market, which is 4-5km away. You can take subway line 2 to reach upon getting off at Jianguomen.
