bringing in coffee powder (approx 3kg) in normal plastic bags into china as gifts

Hi, i've seen some replies stating that there is no weight limit for bringing in coffee powder in, i need some latest updates please. i want to ask if now i have 5 medium sized plastic bags of coffee powder (about 500-700gm each normal tied up), can i bring in my carry-on luggage? lets say not exceeding the luggage weight limit? if can bring, do i need to seal the plastic bags or just tied up will do? do i have to declare that also? Thank you in advance.

Eric, I suggest you bring it in your checked luggage to avoid any problem. And you should declare at the customs too.

Eric, tie-up is ok. But you'd better wrap coffee powder very well in case its bag is broken.
