About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

US citizen going to hong kong and guilin

Will be going to hong kong then guilin and then back to hong kong. Do I only need a mainland china visa or will I need permits as well?

Dear, you just need to apply for an entry permit to mainland PRC because American passport holders can enter HK freely for not exceeding 90 days.
