About:Yangzhou Street Scene

Hi i'm applying X2 visa with the major purpose being a "short term study for less that 180 days".

My date of arrival in Beijing is 10 Feb 2016. I officially stop studying on the 15th July 2016 and would like to maximise my stay in China. What is the latest date to apply for the student X2 type here in Melbourne Australia (understand the process takes 10-15 days, is this correct?)

I have all the docs ready now, however i understand that the X2 starts from the date of issue, not when you first arrive in China, this correct? Hence i am not sure when i should apply to the consulate in Melbourne, Australia

Andrew, the X2 is valid from the date of issue and expires on the "Enter Before Date" shown on the paper. However, the validity of X2 is not the same with the allowed stay duration. Once your X2 is issued, the allowed stay duration is fixed. So you don't need to think too much about how to maximise your stay in PRC. Apply for it one month prior to your intended departure date and the normal application process takes about four working days only.

Ok, thanks Sara. So the date of issue (validity) does not affect the fix duration of 180 days for X2. So I could get the visa sometime in January and the 180 day period/duration only starts when I enter the country (10th Feb), is this correct?
