About:Cable Cars on Huangshan Mountain

Hangzhou West Bus Station to Huangshan

I am planning on taking the early morning bus on 27 December2015 but I cannot decide to either alight at Tangkou or Tunxi. I am thinking of spending two nights in total at this area before heading on to Shanghai.

Is it possible for me to get a cable car straight up the mountain upon alighting from the bus, spend one night up the mountain, descent and stay in either Tango or Tunxi? Also, I read that several cable cars will not be operating but I cannot for the life of me find any websites which provides me with the information on the date I will be going. If I plan to go up the mountain straight, I will need to store my luggages somewhere for the night, yes?

Lastly, Tangkou or Tunxi for the second night? Haha. Thanks in advance!

Hey, you can go directly to Tangkou. After getting off, transfer to a shuttle bus to Wenquan Station in 15min, where you can take Yuping Cable Car onto the mountain. Stay overnight at the nearby Yupinglou Hotel. And Yuping cable car will certainly be in service during your travel (closed on Jan. 4-15, 2016). You can store your luggage in the bus station near Tangkou and the charge is reasonable.

On the next night, you may stay in Tunxi and enjoy the ancient area of Huangshan City.
