About:Hong Kong Light Rail

which transportation ticket to buy in Hong Kong

We will travel by air and stay for three days, after which we will travel to Guangzhou. What do you think is the best idea for transportation?

Airport Express Travel Pass for three days (one airport trip) (not valid on buses?)
MTR Day Pass (not valid on buses?)
Octopus Pass (good for metro and buses?)

Also, when we travel to Guangzhou, is it best to take the through train from Hung Hom station to Guangzhou East?

1. Airport Express Travel Pass only can be used on Airport Express and subways. If you wanna to take bus, you can roload some money on it.
2. MTR Day Pass contains one day of unlimited travel on the MTR and Light Rail, not including buses.
3. The Standard Octopus Card can be used on AE, buses, ferry and taxi.

During these three days, you are suggested to buy AE Travel Pass (single AE ride) for the ride to downtown and unlimited rides on most metro lines. After purchasing it, reload some money for buses. This is the best for you to save money.

In addition, for your convenience, it's suggested to take direct train from Hung Hom Railway Station to get to Guangzhou East Railway Station. It takes nearly 2 hours on the way.
