Sandy, was your baby born in Philipines? If so, you can bring your baby to the embassy and apply a Chinese passport for him. If your baby gets the Chinese passport, then he will acquire Chinese citizenship. However, your baby still needs to register at the police station where your husband's household is registered. It's said that this process is complicated. You'd better ask your husband to consult with local PSB.

Dual-citizenship is not admitted by PRC. So if you plan to change your baby citizenship in the future, your baby should cancel her Chinese citizenship first.

Usually, the birth certificate is enough. But I don't know if the police station has any other requirements, DNA testing, for example. Your husband is a Chinese. He can consult with the police station on this issue.

Well, if he doesn't want to give up Chinese citizenship then he need to apply for a visa before departing to Philippines. The specific documents needed you can consult the Philippines Embassy in China and their phone numbers are Tel:+86-10-65321872 Tel:+86-10-65322451.
