About:China Private Visit Visa

On a S2 Visa, what is the best way to explain my "Personal Affairs" in China?

My partner/boyfriend moved to PRC to teach English. We are very serious but not engaged. I was hoping to go out there for the full 180 days, but I'm not sure how to explain this, or if this is anything they will accept? Would it be better to apply for an L type and just renew while I am out there?

Hi, Allison, I’m afraid it’s not that easy for you to apply for S2 type because you two haven’t get married yet. I personally think it's better to apply for an L type and renew it after you come in.

Well, it's easy to do so but I can't guarantee that the officer will surely grant you the extension.
