Does it have to be the same airline?

I am planning to fly to Chengdu nonstop from Malaysia. I will be there for 60 hours and then fly to the United States. My flights to and from China are purchased separately on different airlines. Is this ok or does it have to be the same airline to qualify?

James, it's ok. You don't have to buy tickets from the same airline.
