About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

mother is china citizen, can the kids (8 and 10 yr old) apply for china passport please?

husband is SG passport. kids age 8 and 10 yr old have SG passport. Wife is PRC passport. Usually the kids will visit wife home town during their school holiday which is a month long, twice a year. every time the kids have to apply the entry permit to visit their grandparent. Can the kid apply for Dual citizenship/passport so that they could visit PRC without the needs of getting entry permit (meaning the kids will dependent and apply because their mother is PRC citizen)? Singapore allow kids to own dual citizenship/passport until the age 18 yr old. If this is possible, it will be great news for the kids. please advise who or where can i approach to help us.

Hi, James! Sorry to tell you that the kids can't get PRC passports unless they give up their Singaporean nationality. China does not recognize dual-citizenship, so it's a pity for you. My suggestion is that they try to apply for one-year or two-year multiple-entry Q2 type at the embassy so they don't have to do the application everytime.
