About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ
Could I apply for 72 hrs VISA if I my arrival to Shanghai is from Hongkong, and my departure to BKK?

Yeah, you can apply for the 72 hour free transit. In this case, Hong Kong is considered as the region of departure.
