wuzhen closed?

Question

I made hostel reservations at Map Park hostel for the night of 14 December and they emailed me back a week later saying to cancel my reservation and that Wu Zhen isnt open to everybody...Is something going on?

I've never heard about it. But the World Internet Conference will be held there this year from December 16-18 and it is said that someone importat will attend it. So maybe it's why the hotel cancel your reservation. Try to see if you can make a reservation at another hotel.
