Paul, you need to go to local entry and exit management bureau to change it into a resident permit. Perhaps, you might tell where you will go to. Then i can help you find where the bureau is. Please remember that you need to apply for the resident permit within 30 days upon arrival.

Amy, I will be going to Zhu Hai in the canton province.
What about the fees? Will Q1 be more expensive?

You can go to the Exit and Entry Administration of Zhuhai Public Security Bureau on No.493, Xianghua Road. It costs 88.3RM to apply for the Q1. Q1 isn't more expensive than other types. The cost is up to how many entries you apply for instead of what types.

It's up to the validity of your residence permit. If the residence permit is valid for a year, then you can stay one year.
