Zimbabwean passport invited by relative working in China, what kind of invitation is needed?

I am Zimbabwean passport holder and have been invited by my cousin who works in mainland to spend Christmas with him. I wanted to the Chinese visa office in Johannesburg and was the old that my cousin needs to complete an invitation form that he gets form a travel agent and send it to me. Is this correct?

Nellie, if you just stay with him for a couple of days (no longer than 30 days), then you just need to apply for a tourist type. Yes, an invitation letter from him is needed. In fact, there is no formal format for the invitation letter. Your cousin just needs to include the following information in the letter:
1. your personal information: name, sex, date of birth
2. your itinerary: when to arrive, when to leave, where you stay and visit and who burdens the expenditure
3. his personal information: name, sex, date of birth, where he lives, phone number.
4. copies of his passport and resident permit.

By the way, the invitation letter isn't required to be original. It means that he can fax or scan it and then send to you via Email.
