About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

How to apply for visa and how long is the process?

I am a Canadian permanent resident travelling with a Philippine passport. I am travelling from Canada to Philippines, with 18 hrs layover in Shanghai. I want to do some sightseeing in Shanghai, do I need to arrange for an entry permit before I travel or can I apply for one at the airport? How long is the process?

Hello, Amie, you can use the 24 hour direct transit, so you don’t need to apply for an entry permit in advance. If you want to do some sightseeing in Shanghai, you need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport.
