11 hour stop over in Hong Kong, do we need visa?

I am a South African citizen flying to New Zealand via Hong Kong, there is an 11 hour stop over in Hong Kong there and back, I am travelling with my 2 year old grandson so would like to book into a Hotel for the time that we are in Hong Kong.

Pam, you needn't apply in advance because South Africans enjoy 30 days free stay there with their valid passports if they transit or travel in HK.
