About:Huashan Mountain

West Gate of Huashan to Xi'an

Hi, I am traveling to the mountain in January 2016 and I am intending to go up all five peaks, with cable car both ways, starting from north peak, ending west peak.

1. Where should I leave my luggage if I want to head to XA right after.
2. From West Gate - what are my options to XA Railway Station or North Railway Station? (Bus, train, price, time and duration)

1. You can store your luggage at the Tourist Service Center near the ticket office of the cable car (for North Peak). After getting down from West Peak, head for the service center to retrieve your luggage.
2. Get down the mountain and you can find the direct buses back to XA Railway Station near Yuquanyuan Temple. Buses are scheduled from 06:00 - 19:00. The bus fare is CNY35-37 per person and it takes around 1.5h.

1. How far away is the tourist centre from both west and north peak and is it walkable distance from both?
2. How much do they charge for left luggage for a regular 20kg check in luggage sized item?
3. Are the buses at yuquanyuan available in January and how regular do they go?

1. No, the tourist center is located at the mountain foot, near the Ticket Office of cable car (North Peak). When you take the cable car down from the west peak, you need to take another shuttle bus back to the tourist center to retrieve the luggage. It is about 12 miles, you cannot cover that by walking.

2. It charges about CNY10-15 for per piece of luggage.
3. Yes, in January, the bus is still available, and the bus departs at an interval of 30 mins from 06:00 to 19:00.

Hi there, where you will arrive in XA? If it is the railway station, you can just leave your luggage at the station and take it back after the visit, rather than take it there and here. The service fee is no much difference as at the Tourist Service Center.

How long does it take from west peak to tourist center and how much does the shuttle bus costs?

Dave,

I will be arriving at North Railway from Shanghai and hoping to go there via Railway to spend the night. which is a better arrangement then? To take the bus from tourist center to Xi An Railway or north Railway station and then bullet train to XiAn Railway?

It takes about an hour from west peak lower cable terminal to the tourist center. Ticket fare is CNY 40.

Hi there, I see there is only one train (D 306) from Shanghai to Xian North Railway Station and it has a stop in Huashan North Railway Station. In that case, why don't you get off at Huashan North and head to the mountain directly, instead of going back to XA and then turn back to the mountain.

If getting off at Huashan North, you can store your luggage at the railway station and then travel light to the mountain. From the station, there are free tourism buses (in green) to the Tourist Center of the scenic area. If by private car, it takes about CNY 10 per person. After getting down the mountain from West Peak, take the sightseeing bus (CNY 40) back to the Tourist Center, and then take the free bus or a private car back to the railway station. Take back your luggage and get onboard another train to XA. There are many trains shuttling to XA each day, so it won't be a problem.
