About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72-hour Visa-free Transit question

I'm planning on booking a short tour; arriving to Beijing March 24 from Seattle, Washington and departing Beijing March 27 to Japan. Then I leave S Korea to LAX April 15 but there is a 3 hours layover in Beijing. Can I use the 72-hour Free Transit for the arrival on March 24 and the 24 hour Direct Transit for the layover? Please advise.

Yes, the route Seattle-Beijing-Japan is qualified for the 72-hour policy as long as you stay in Beijing for on more than 72 hours. And the route S Korea-Beijing-LAX is eligible for 24-hour direct transit.
