About:China Visa Application in USA

Do I need a visa for less than 24 hour transit stop to see Beijing for US citizen?

Flying from Thailand to U.S. with a stop in Beijing less than 24 hours. Can I just get a free transit entry permit to see Beijing? If yes, where and when I can get it? Thanks, Lyudmyla

Yes, you can get a 24-hour free transit permit. You can apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration counter inside the airport upon arrival and leave the airport to see the city.
