About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London shanghai london

I need to go to Shanghai the week after next for 3 days but am in USA next week for business so cannot get a visa in time. can i use the 72 hour free transit to fly from london to shanghai and then back out of shanghai to london?

Tom, if you fly from London to Shanghai and then return to London directly, this route is not a transit. So you can't make use of the 72hrs free transit scheme. In order to use it, you can fly from London to Hong Kong or Macau first, then fly from there to Shanghai, after 72 hours, fly back to London.
