How do I go to OCT East from Window of the World in Shenzhen?

Is there any direct bus? How long would it take?

Yes, there are direct buses. At WOW (Shijie Zhichuang) bus stop, you can take the bus Guanguang Line 1 (Sightseeing bus Line) to the OCT East directly. The fare is about CNY8. It takes 70-80min to arrive.

Hotels within walking distance to the scenic area cost too much. Is a hotel around 3km away ok for you? If so, I know a Longmen Inn/Hostel at no. 5, Wangcui Road, near Meisha Hospital, can be a good choice. It costs around CNY200/room per night. Another one has better conditions, named Shuiyun Apartment at no. 60, Yanmei Road, but it is 5-6km away.

I was thinking of looking for a hotel either in Luohu or around OCT east. Do you happen to know any in the range of 100 to 150?

Generally, hotels which are qualified to receive foreigners usually cost a little more. Anyway, I know a Seven Days Inn near Luohu Rail Station. It is located at no. 1161, Heping Road, Luohu District. The charge is no more than CNY200 per night. If you are ok with it, try to book online, because the cost on the spot may be higher.
